UNIFORM POLICY
School uniforms became mandatory in September, 2004. Uniforms must be worn at all times. The school uniform should be kept neat and clean and all uniform items are to be labeled with the child’s name.
Enforcement
The Pearson Road Elementary uniform policy will be strictly enforced. It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that their children attend school wearing the entire uniform in a neat and presentable manner and that the garments are kept in good condition. Students who arrive at school without their uniform will be sent to the office to call home. The school crest must be visible and not covered by with non-uniform sweaters or sweatshirts.
Exceptions
From time to time, special “non-uniform” days may be designated. On those days, dress is to be modest and in good taste. The school administration reserves the right to contact parents of students who are not dressed appropriately. Students do have the option of wearing their school uniform instead on these days. All field trips will require that students be in uniform.
All Students
All students are required to have at least one school shirt with the crested school logo and one midnight navy bottom piece. Both boys and girls may wear plain midnight navy slacks or shorts. Girls may also choose a skirt, skort or jumper if they prefer. A variety of slacks are available through local stores. Students may wear a plain white t-shirt or turtleneck underneath their school shirt if they are chilly. School shirts must not be covered up by non-uniform sweatshirts or sweaters. A crested hoody or pullover is acceptable in the cooler weather. If in doubt, please check with the administration.
Note
Makeup is not allowed nor appropriate for our elementary school. Large or dangly earrings pose a safety hazard out on the playground and during PE classes. If students arrive at school with large or dangly earrings, they will be asked to remove them.
Physical Education
All students in grades 4 – 6 are to have a plain white t-shirt and navy shorts for P.E. All students should have a pair of clean, non-marking shoes for wearing inside the school.
